Swine Flu Provides Distraction from Gulf Wars and Economic Depression!

Is it me… or is the media working the world into an hysteria over this whole Swine Flu thing. (yeah and here I am contributing to the clamor! ** swine-ish sheepish grin
Influenza is no joke, that's for sure, and I understand the need for people to be informed, but REALLY! Do we really need a report about how many people sneezed onw a bus in Kamloops??
How many of you were around in 2005 for the Bird Flu reporting? What happens is that people get tired (oh so tired) of sensationalist news reports, and stop heeding common sense because they become immune to the reports. that's when something like this can really take off. When people stop caring…..

I get that people are getting sick, and I understand that a pandemic might not be a great thing to have happen, but lets' not get so worked up about it that we forget that we have soldiers in Afghanistan, and middle east. Let us remember that we have sons in the gulf off of Somalia's shores. Let's not forget that there are PEOPLE killing people and that's just as important as influenza H1N1.
Can we please try to stay real? A couple of hundred people have died from swine flu. I wonder how many people in Africa or India died today from lack of clean drinking water?
Ah well…. back to reporting!
